Teaching

Peter Whiteman was a senior lecturer in the Theatre Department at Wimbledon School of Art for many years. He was able to take advantage of the mutual exchange programme and worked at other teaching establishments. Including, Central School of Art & Design. London, The Maastricht Theatre School. Holland, The Theatre School. Barcelona and Mountview Theatre Club. London.

“I initially taught on the Wimbledon School of Art Theare Design Course on a part-time basis as a scenic artist. Due to the practical nature of the Course at the time, I was then employed as a 0.5 senior lecturer.
Malcolm Pride, the Head of Department, encouraged me to continue to work as a practising artist and designer, which proved mutually invaluable to both the students and myself.

I spent many enjoyable years helping ambitious students to realise their potential, and continue to meet them as successful and professional practitioners in all areas of the arts. For a short time I taught on the newly-developed Technical Arts Courses, and ran the Technical Arts Design Course in my last year at the school.” (Peter Whiteman:2010)
